This just in, a viral tweet posted by @thamestweet on the app X formerly known as Twitter, reports a plane landing on the river Thames located near Rainham Marshes. It was posted and seen around 2:30 pm and since then, emergency authorities from Kent and Essex have been on their way to provide help and service to the passengers on board.
Whilst the police were on their way, the Official account London City Airport confirmed via X, that flight US132 lost contact on the radar and a pilot reported a faulty engine with no power. The flight had just taken off from LCY to AMS but with no energy, its last resort was to land the plane on the water to ensure passengers’ safety. By 3 pm, Essex police found the State of the Thames plane 100 metres offshore at Purfleet RSPB reserve and fortunately, all 42 passengers and 6 crew were evacuated onto lifeboats safely with only 2 passengers suffering from minor injuries and were immediately being treated at Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre. Passenger Nadine Johnson took to social media X, to praise the pilot for its good landing she quotes, “The pilot is a total legend for getting us down in one piece.
After all the passengers being evacuated, Essex police again, confirms that all passengers and crews but one passenger, were rushed to Queens Hospital due to a possibility of a heart attack. Once authorities confirmed this, arrangements were being made to facilitate passengers’ needs and measurements to provide them safety whether it be to go home, or back to London City Airport to their next destination.
This predicament led to British Transport Police to investigate the report regarding the plane and around 4 pm, The BLT stated on X, “original reports of bird strike but initial examination of engines of #ThamesPlane has found drone debris.” This meant that flight US132, collided with two drones.
As of now, there have been no current updates regarding the investigation of flight US132. Stay tuned for further notices.
